D&M Learning Center is a Nursing Assistant Training School based in Teaneck, New Jersey. Our passion for supporting individuals in their career development is reflected in the quality of our training programs. The Challenge
Maria and Marjorie recognized that building a website would be a powerful opportunity to attract and engage potential students. They needed a digital presence that not only reflected their mission and values but also appealed to a broad and diverse audience.
Marketing Effectively
When tasked with designing the website, my primary goal was to strike a balance between appealing to their core target audience—women aged 25 to 45—and expanding outreach to individuals of all genders and age groups interested in entering the healthcare field. This required a thoughtful and inclusive strategy that broadened accessibility while maintaining a clear brand focus.
Creating a Brand Experience
Initially, D&M Learning Center relied heavily on word-of-mouth marketing to communicate its mission and values. To translate that experience into a digital format, we collaborated to brainstorm ideas and design a website that effectively conveyed the school’s voice while creating a positive and engaging brand experience.
The Approach
To address these challenges, I implemented a multi-faceted strategy that included enhancing their social media presence, incorporating informative blog content, and leveraging Google Analytics to better understand user behavior and optimize performance.
Design and Layout
The design process began with research into CNA programs and other academic institution websites to identify best practices. Using these insights, I created low-fidelity wireframes to establish the site’s structure, followed by a high-fidelity prototype developed in Adobe XD.
Throughout the process, we maintained consistent communication to ensure alignment on brand identity and messaging. We also emphasized the school’s multilingual capabilities by integrating a language option, allowing users to easily switch to Spanish.
High-quality visuals were incorporated to reinforce the brand’s mission and values. The homepage features compelling images of the school environment and students actively engaged in hands-on learning, helping prospective students envision their own journey.
To keep the content fresh and engaging, the school updates its homepage header images every three to four months. The navigation bar allows users to easily explore different sections of the site, while a clear call-to-action encourages enrollment. Additionally, the website provides essential information, including program requirements, timelines, and registration details.
Contact information and social media links are prominently displayed, making it easy for prospective students to connect and stay informed about updates and opportunities. Strategic keyword usage also improves search engine visibility, helping the site appear in relevant Google search results.
Google Business Profile
D&M Learning Center leverages Google Business Profile to further enhance its online presence. By highlighting attributes such as “Black-owned” and “Female Empowerment,” the school connects with audiences who actively seek out businesses aligned with these values, increasing discoverability and engagement.
The Results
The thoughtful approach to visual design, layout, and personalized content has helped D&M Learning Center attract students who resonate with its mission and values. The website’s clean, gender-neutral design reinforces its commitment to inclusivity, creating a welcoming environment for all prospective students.
As a result, visitors are more engaged, gain a clearer understanding of the program, and feel empowered and confident about pursuing a career in healthcare.
